  Did you note this from the start in 2014 or is this a patch bug? At least my sims sit down in front of comedians when I place chairs near the microphone.
  
• In my first TS4 wedding they sat down, but I don't think they have after that guess it's a bug?

• I notice that to some extent, but if I sit my chairs near the arch many of them do sit in them.

• I don't think I've ever seen anybody actually sit during the ceremony. They all love to just crowd around you. They only sit when eating. :/

  Then it's time EA changes their sitting mechanics. They are desastrous in all parts of the game.

  I used the premade EA wedding room in that wedding. Now I've tried having different chairs, place them differently, build a room for the wedding but the sims wont sit. I think I should try again with that room just in case.

• The same thing happens in my weddings. I used the premade room for the first few weddings I had and everyone sat down when the ceremony started but now if I place an arch and chairs myself everyone just stands around and will only sit on the chairs after the ceremony when they want to eat or talk. At first I thought I placed the chairs too close or too far from the arch, but after playing around with chair placements and having multiple demo weddings ruined because of standing sims I realised it must be a glitch in the game. I only really noticed this happening when I use my own (or others from the gallery) wedding setup, so for the next wedding I'll use the default wedding room and see if that still works.
  I also wonder if it could be a chair issue? Perhaps they'll only sit down for a wedding if there's bench just like the one in the wedding room? I also tried using the chaises that come with Luxury Party Stuff and that didn't work either - they all stood around them but still had no problem sitting on them when they wanted to eat. I also hate that they go to sit by the arch to eat instead of by the dining tables that would be conveniently placed near the buffet table.

• I'm going to try putting a microphone next to the wedding arch and see if they sit..i will post if it works.
• I'm not a story teller but, weddings seem to be Standing Room Only. If you have other playable sims there to witness the wedding, can each one create a group of guests and have them 'sit together'?
• I find that sims will sit in the chair/benches right Infront of the arch, but the rest will just stand by it. So then I have rows of empty seats.

  I think in the very beginning they did sit down, but it was short lived.

• i've never had a single sim sit for any of my ceremonies, and i've had plenty hahah
  it's REALLY frustrating, especially when you are trying to take screenshots of the wedding and there is just a literal crowd near the marrying couple, makes it impossible to get any nice, full view shots. almost all of my weddings that had guests end up being just a bunch of awkward close ups of the bride(s) / groom(s) together. really hope this gets fixed.

  Yes i have tried it. About 2/8 sims sat down for 5 seconds and got back up once the ceremont started. Does not work at all

  Put the microphone behind the arch and hire a comedian (could look like he is performing the ceremony)
• But sims stand up to watch the comedian too, so that won't fix anything. I tried building this gorgeous performing arts theater once, with rows of seating and a stage area for performing musicians and comedians. I even put the stage on the same level just to make sure there wasn't any obstruction for being on split levels. But nobody used the chairs, they all huddled close around the performer to watch.

• Perhaps you need a wedding coordinator or 2 to move into the house temporarily. so that when you have a wedding you can make a group out of them to sit together before the wedding starts.

• My sims don't marry a lot, but recently I needed 2 wedding ceremonies for my little story. I have built 2 nice wedding locations with arches and chairs. But in both cases my npc guests refused to sit down and watch the wedding. Instead they stood in 2 groups beside the chairs. After the ceremony, when the food was served, everyone sat down without any problems.
  I'm sure that in TS3 guests were sitting in front of the arch. Has this changed in TS4, do I have a bug or is there a trick how to place the chairs??
