Going with what the rule is, even though the manga is far ahead of the anime series, only five volumes are issued every year. Four out of five new volumes of the Domestic Girlfriend manga are already scheduled for 2019. The 22nd volume was already issued on March 15, 2019, whereas the rest of the mangas are scheduled up to November 15, 2019. Therefore, since we know that the series is only going to have twelve episodes, it wouldn't be a wrong thing to say that there are an abundance of content and source materials for further TV adaptations.

Even though there hasn't been any official announcement about the release date of Domestic na Kanojo, still, we can have a chance to see the second season coming next year since it barely takes a long time for the production team to make another single cour season for an anime series. What Is The Plot Of This Series?

The story of Domestic Girlfriend or Domestic na Kanojo is about Natsuo Fujii, who is a high school student and who falls in love with his teacher, Hina. His love is unrequited. But life didn't just stop there for Natsuo, as he stumbled upon a different girl named Rui Tachibana. Rui seduces him to have sex with her. Barely knowing much about her and she not wanting to develop anything serious between them, Natsuo is forced to believe that he has betrayed his love. He is soon frustrated. However, things become even more complex when Natsuo realizes that Rui is none other than Hina's younger sister. Both the girls are the daughters of his father's new beloved woman, Tokiko Tachibana, whom his father soon wants to ask for marriage.

The first season of Domestic Girlfriend aired on January 12, 2019, on MBS. The series is adapted by Diomedea studio, and Sentai Filmworks has licensed the anime in North America.
